Centralized Billing Office


A fundamental ability to process payment claims with an economy of scale is achieved with a Central Billing Office (CBO).  Coding, ICD9/10, and claims scrubbing are core abilities of the CBO.  Leveraging the enterprise middleware architecture provides for a seamless and timely vehicle for communicating claims information, and will provide for fault tolerant transaction processing.  Training at the point of care is needed to adequately support the back-office.

Four claims pillars are needed;

 

  1. Well documented coding instructions capturing all services and materials provided
  2. Centralized data scrubbing means and methods to minimize rework
  3. Skilled personal with specialized knowledge aligned with specific payer organizations
  4. Linkage to the banking solutions for secure lock-box processing

The evolving technology landscape must accommodate HIPAA 5010 and ICD10 migrations.  Coupled with a Revenue Cycle initiative, the CBO continues to prove an invaluable back-office asset to the organization.
